“Lawrence’s title is apt, as most of his characters are engaged in plotting and scheming, enraged by the actions of another, which makes this story an entertainingly soapy affair… action packed tale of spite.” – Kirkus Reviews

[I Will Always Find You] A beautiful HEA!

Rated 5 out of 5
November 20, 2025

An unusual story, packed with snippets of a wide variety of cultures and historical settings. In each chapter, the Romani witch is reborn and searches for his reincarnated love. Not all attempts are successful, but his feelings remain strong despite every trial that the Wheel of Destiny throws at them. A beautiful HEA over 2,000 years in the making, yet leaving the story open for a different type of supernatural sequel.

It’s a love story that celebrates queer resilience...!

November 11, 2025

I Will Always Find You beautifully brings together gay romance and mythic themes. The author reimagines archetypal stories—gods and mortals, witches and storytellers, lovers bound by a manipulated, intertwined fate—and grounds them in deeply human emotions. These are men whose passion (erotic and romantic) transcends the boundaries of era and identity, reborn across centuries.
The story unfolds across various historical settings, including ancient Pompeii and Britain, medieval taverns, the Carpathian Forests, the shadowy streets of Spain during the Napoleonic Wars, and post-World War II and modern-day Canada, among others. Each era is described with vibrant, accurate details, and the action sequences are really cinematic. There’s a real tenderness between the Romani witch and his star-crossed love, Aeneas. Their relationship feels both epic and intimate, full of passion, pain, and a strength that carries them through everything they face, societal and supernatural. It’s a love story that celebrates queer resilience and shows how real love endures no matter what the world or fate throws at it. Not every chapter ends happily, but the payoff at the end is so worth it.
A recurring theme in the story that really caught my attention is the message that no matter how powerful you believe yourself to be, there’s always someone tougher. It’s a humbling reminder that strength isn’t just about dominance or might, but about resilience, compassion, and the very human ability to endure.

“Vindictive Too” grabs you by the collar from page one and refuses to let go. Ryan Lawrence has a knack for weaving suspense, revenge, and human fragility into a web that feels chillingly real. Inspector Declan is the kind of character who sticks in your head long after you put the book down, and the dark, twisting layers of Fairporte kept me flipping pages way past bedtime.
This isn’t just a revenge story, it’s an intricate dance of lies, corruption, and hidden truths. If you like thrillers that don’t just entertain but also make you think, this book is a must-read.
Ryan Lawrence is definitely an author to watch, I can’t wait to see what comes next.

A Beautiful Love Story Between Two Men.

Rated 5 out of 5
October 28, 2025

I Will Always Find You transports readers into a realm of reincarnated lovers, dark fates, true love, magic, and sacrifice. It features a spellbinding (because they are gay male witches, you see) story that spans centuries. The author nicely combines historical depth with supernatural elements. He skillfully layers themes of purpose, revenge, and emotional vulnerability. Some great research here!
This novel continues to explore the themes introduced in his first book of the Haunted Hearts series, The Night Belongs to Lovers. Since this new installment is a longer read, like over a hundred pages longer, it offers more of these characters’ ever-changing life stories across different centuries. The result is a highly detailed novel that deepens the emotional stakes and moral ambiguities. It’s a beautiful love story between two men who may be seemingly screwed by destiny, mixed with a lot of fun magic. I loved the first book in the series, but I think this one might be my favourite of the two.

Fate, gods, and witches all shape time, history, and destiny.
Ryan leads us on a journey of two souls across time. Each incarnation is a fascinating and unique story of two men tied together by fate and love. But their story also unfolds in a greater way through each time.
It’s beautiful, and heartbreaking, and epic, and makes you wish that love could be so strong.
Ryan captures a storytelling narrative that really evokes the essence and ages of the story.

I loved this book [I Will Always Find You]! A sweeping love story that stretches across time, from ancient Pompeii all the way to modern-day Toronto, following two men who just can’t seem to escape each other or their fate. What really stood out to me was how the author mixes magic, gods, and destiny with such raw emotion. It’s not just about romance, but about the power of love itself and how it survives through everything, even death. The third-person omniscient style might not be for everyone, but I thought it worked really well here and gave the story a timeless quality.
Overall, a beautifully written, emotional read with a good dose of action and heartbreak. Definitely one that sticks with you after you’ve finished.

It's historical M/M at it's best.

Rated 5 out of 5
October 23, 2025

I Will Find You is Ryan Lawrence’s contribution to the multiauthor Haunted Hearts Season of the Witch. It’s historical M/M at it’s best. The research that must have been done for the worldbuilding to be this accurate. And interesting.
The tragic love story of a Romani witch, Cassian, and his beloved half-Egyptian, half Roman Aeneas, starts in Pompei with Aeneas’ murder at the hands of it’s citizens. Not powerful enough to cause Mount Vesuvius to erupt, Cassian calls upon the gods and Hecate answers him. Both he and Aeneas would reincarnate, with only Cassian remembering their pasts. The story encompasses 2,000 years of the two meeting and(on Aeneas’ side), falling in love. Dark magic haunts them, Fate interfering to keep them apart.
The book was interesting, but I didn’t find this an easy read, my heart breaking for the pair. There was lots of sweet love and some pretty frightening violence.

A Story That Unfolds Across Many Moments In History

Rated 5 out of 5
October 19, 2025

I Will Always Find You is a story that unfolds across many moments in history. The historical moments described are accurate. It is an incredible journey through two thousand years of history combined with supernatural elements, where we see both sides of magic, both white and dark arts. Unfolds the same characters across many moments in history, which are accurate and well documented.
It is a romance and at the same time it is not, because there are many, and it also teaches us that true love can overcome the barriers of time and space.
I liked the action scenes, which are very well narrated.
In addition, the author establishes a set of rules, which we realize little by little, and yes, breaking them results in punishment. You don’t see this very often; the hero always gets away with it, even if he breaks the rules, but not here, which makes it original. All decisions have consequences, both good and bad.

I loved I Will Always Find You

October 19, 2025

I loved this book. Told in chapter long vignettes, this book follows a pair of men in an epic love story over multiple centuries, regions, and cultures. I particularly liked the style of writing which felt in sync with oral storytelling that is typical of mythology. Because the book incorporates both witchcraft, gods, and goddesses from ancient times, it makes sense that the writing would reflect the way those stories are told and passed down.
I wouldn’t call this a romance as much as it is an ode to nature, magic, and true love. And while the love and connection of the two main male characters is ever present, the author really shines when writing the action scenes that take place in nearly ever chapter as the Wheel of Destiny tries to keep our lovers apart. One aside is that the book is written in 3rd person omniscient which some may find unpalatable, but I enjoyed how it was deployed. Overall, I found this book to be a beautiful and exciting read.

There were always these neat little things in each chapter to keep it all exciting… I don’t know how to explain it, CLEARLY, but it was awesome and I loved it. A thrilling ride that begins with murder and sexual assault. Running parallel to the original book, we have a new storyline and questions answered that were raised in the first book. We have the return of several old characters in addition to some brand new ones.
We uncover the truth about what is hidden underneath The Farm. Meet some of those unfortunate to have been kept there. Some lovely, kindhearted characters and some very unsavoury ones. We learn the identity of the bearded man, poised to make a grand comeback. We learn where Marie had been running off to.
Veronique is a wonderfully intriguing character. She’s beautiful and seductive. Cold and calculating, making her very dangerous in her mission for revenge. Declan. My heart bleeds for him. For Michael. For what was lost and the knowledge that a second chance could never come. A great story right from the start.

Manipulations, Secrets, Scheming!

Rated 4 out of 5
May 6, 2024

I don’t think I’ve ever hated a main character as much as I have this one. And yet, I admired her at the same time. I won’t lie though. I hoped for her inevitable downfall. She’s manipulative, power hungry and doesn’t care who she has to take down to get to the top. And well, let’s not forget Vindictive and very much sane.
Now William is a psychopath and I very much enjoyed his character. Sadistic and calculated. Driven by the one event that steered his life into a solitary goal. The downfall of Jules. I know. They both have similarities. So why do I love one and hate the other? Because William doesn’t see areas of grey. There’s no moral compass that he chooses to ignore. It just is.
It’s a novel of twists and turns. Loads of morally grey characters. Manipulations, secrets, scheming. You name it. It has it. The strong make it up to the top. The weak and kind hearted don’t last. They get used and discarded. You have no idea how it’s going to end. Yes, as I was reading, I was hoping William would take Jules down in the end. Did he? This book truly could have gone either way.

I absolutely loved Vindictive! What a twisty tale of revenge, lies and murder.
Set against a backdrop of meticulous research, Lawrence delves into the intricate machinations of the human psyche, exploring the depths of vengeance and the potential for redemption. At the heart of the story lies a web of entangled relationships, where characters’ motives and loyalties are called into question.
The characters are complex and compelling, driven by a range of lies and desires.
Beyond its well-developed characters, Vindictive also explores the nature of morality. Lawrence challenges readers to question the boundaries between right and wrong. Even to consider the consequences of seeking vengeance.
I cannot recommend Vindictive enough!

Vindictive Too is fast paced with twists and turns along the way.

June 1, 2023

Vindictive Too brings you back to Fairporte and its surrounding area for another round of mystery, revenge and betrayal. The novel accompanies the first not as a sequel but as a concurrent work focusing on other characters that were briefly met in Vindictive. Lawrence has expertly woven the two books together within the same timeframe filling in the pieces from the first and delving into the lives of the characters we only saw glimpses of in the original. I loved reading when the timelines and characters connected from the first novel. The character-rich plot doubled during this book and the “ah-ha” moments connecting characters made it such a fun and thrilling read.
Vindictive Too is fast paced with twists and turns along the way. The dark pasts of many come to light in the present. As the reader, I was drawn to the new characters (Declan and Veronique were especially intriguing) and turned each page wanting to find out more.
Without giving spoilers, answers were given, but then more questions arose. Lawrence has masterfully created an intricate mystery that has appeased the reader with some answers in the first two novels but still needs final resolutions. Who will be forgiven? Who will get the ultimate revenge? Will anyone be left unscathed? I cannot wait to find out in the third instalment.

Jumping into Vindictive Too, I was excited to continue with the storyline from the first novel. To my surprise, I got something completely different and surprisingly enthralling. Ryan Lawrence kept the essence of betrayal, lies, deceit, and revenge from the first story and built an amazing storyline that was running parallel to the events of the first book.
Completely immersed in the new character’s (some from the first book but more in the forefront of this one) arcs, you completely get involved with the direction of this book. The minor threads throughout the book to remind you this is part of the same world as the first story, is done elegantly, to the point that you don’t care if they ever reconnect down the road, but know if they do, it will be a complete blowout of anarchy.
You never want to give too much away with a review, but I am anticipating book three crashing all our newly introduced characters into the world of the first, set in an all-out brawl of mayhem. Pure gold from Lawrence!

Like a spiderweb, the twists and angles in this book are deceptive and beautiful all at once!
Without giving anything away, the book is an amazing journey through the eyes of many characters; some you sympathize with, and most you can’t wait for them to get their karma kicked into their faces.
Lawrence’s delivery wove an intricate, multi-layered story with an impressive number of character viewpoints that constantly build upon its rich scenery and description.
My mindset on the characters kept changing throughout the book as new layers of content were shed, chapter after chapter.
I literally opened the second book immediately
after finishing this one. Can’t wait to see what is next for the characters from this series, as well as anything new Lawrence throws at us down the line. Worth the read!

Vindictive Too is book 2 in Ryan Lawrence’s Vindictive thriller series. The book takes place alongside the events that transpired in Vindictive (book 1) and introduces new twists and turns to an already exciting and thrilling series.
A chain of vengeful events is set in motion when a man’s brutally murdered body is found in an alley. This book centres around Marie Berge, wife of Jacque Berge, as she tries to cope with the unspeakable horrors of her past, horrors that might explain her unexpected disappearances.
In true Lawrence fashion, the author provides us with just enough information and clues to keep the reader salivating with each page, never revealing the true significance… until it’s too late. This book is so well written and planned out that the author should be commended on writing such an amazing and edge-of-seat thriller. I cannot wait until the next book in this series comes out. Highly recommend reading this book if you love thrillers.

Lawrence does a great job of building tension and keeping you on the edge of your seat as you turn pages for hours. The imagery is vivid, and it’s easy to feel like you’re watching the story unfold in front of you. The characters have a bit of depth, but it’s not always easy to like them. The story centers around Jules, an intelligent and powerful businesswoman, who seeks revenge against those who have caused her harm. Her plan for exacting revenge is brilliantly planned and executed in such a way that keeps the reader ensnared until the very last page. The author creates characters that are so vivid and well-developed that you cannot help but love/hate them. Every page and every chapter provides the reader with a new clue or new twist that only adds to the suspense of this thriller. The writing style and use of descriptions are very sophisticated which is perfect for this novel considering the level of extreme intelligence of the main characters in the book. The story does end with a happy-for-now scenario, as the second part of this novel should be released later this year.

Vindictive is a wonderfully written book that kept me on the edge of my seat until the very last chapter. The author creates characters so vivid and well-developed that they leap off the page. The writing style and use of descriptions are very sophisticated, but I still found the novel to be quite accessible.
